I am seeing the effects of global warming here in Saurashtra ( a region in Gujarat). That is where I have been living for the last few years. And I am seeing climate change.
Saurashtra is supposed to be a dry arid area. The average rainfall is about 18-20 inches annually. Seeing the rainfall statistics for Rajkot for the last 35 years I see in many years the rainfall has been 7 inches. The pattern had been two or three years with 15 to 25 inches then a year with about 7-10 years.
But in the last eight years this has changed. All the years the rainfall has been more than 28 inches. It touched 40 years twice or thrice. The message is clear. Rainfall is increasing over Saurashtra. Mangrol and Veraval areas have seen flooding this year.
There is deficient rainfall in Bihar, West Bengal. States that have historically seen high rainfall.
Climate change. That is what it is.

Climate change is here!
"Mumbai coldest in 46 years"- TIMES OF INDIA
-------------------
"If God lived on earth, people would break his windows."-- Jewish Proverb
-------------------
Mumbaikars said it was a chill like never before. And the Met department vouched for it by declaring that Wednesday was the coldest day in the city in the past 46 years.
The temperature at Santa Cruz dropped to 9.4 degrees celsius. Back in January 22, 1962, the mercury had dipped to 7.4 degrees.
Wednesday was also the coldest day in February ever recorded in Mumbai by the Met department. The previous coldest day was February 10, 1950, when the temperature was 10 degrees.
The intense cold in the city is being attributed to "western disturbances" that are causing northerly winds to reach the city, say weather experts.
That is what they attribute it to. I would say it is the result of climate change. Any climatologist around? We are waiting.
