Why is Mallika Sherawat pushing forward Ranvir Shorey for publicizing 'Ugly and Pagli'?

Mallika Sherawat has a heart, believe it or not! While most actors these days are constantly miffed with their co-actors, or fighting with their directors for giving other people greater screen presence, here is one actress who insists that her co-star, Ranvir Shorey, be present with her for every movie promotion opportunity.

Now why on earth is she doing that? Either she is clever enough to understand that Shorey's presence in the promotions will help the flick. Or maybe she is sick of the flick and is washing her hands of it.

One would think that she would want all the attention, but no, she is pushing him in front of every television boom, and making him quite a prey for shutterbugs, whilst she simply bugs off.

'Ugly Pagli' actor talks about 'deeper' side of Mallika Sherawat!

"Whether it is 'Pyar Ke Side Effects', 'Mithya', 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', 'No smoking', all my films have been different," Ranvir says.

Folks, remember this guy's movie is releasing tomorrow. So this just a lot of gas or PR, whatever you would want to call it.

On 'Ugly aur Pagli' set to release on August 1, Ranvir said it was funny, quirky romantic film with a strong emotional angle to it.

"Sensibility wise, this movie is very different from the mainstream movies," the actor who plays the character of Kabir, the only child of a Maharashtrian couple, said.

"A completely spoilt brat...He is very complacent. He studies engineering three-four years more than he is supposed to. His life completely changes when Kuhu (Mallika Sherawat) enters his life. She constantly gets impossible things done from him. She is quirky and whacky," he added.

"Quirky". "Whacky". You have used these words two lines ago. Use some other words. Poor vocabulary you have.

Regarding Mallika, Ranvir said she was really intelligent and smart. It's sad that people don't look beyond her physical attributes.

Is there anything looking beyond her physical attributes? We are waiting if there is.

"She has got instincts about film making business. She looks at the broader picture and picks up good suggestions."

To a question on how male audience would react to his character who is a "lovable loser" in the film, Ranvir said, "guys who are sensible and know that there can be rejections in life will understand this. Whereas guys, who think they are born studs will not relate to my character", he added.

OK. You have talked sense for the first time. Hope all this is in the flick. Or is this gas to lure us into the theatre?
